Valerie Mullen Pletcher

Responsible for annual and strategic planning, development and marketing. Valerie Mullen Pletcher has more than twelve years of fundraising and non-profit management experience. Raised as an “Army-brat,” Valerie grew up in Europe and various cities throughout the East Coast. Her early exposure to different cultures gave her a respect for diversity and inspired her to learn ways to help breakthrough cultural barriers. Her professional background includes fund raising and marketing for both National and local public television and radio. Valerie helped secure production funding for programs such as Washington Week In Review, The Newshour with Jim Lehrer and Sesame Street and was honored with the PBS Corporate Support Award for Excellence. She formed the Delaware Hispanic Cancer Resource Collaborative, is a member of the Delaware Cancer Consortium, is Co-Chair of Public Relations for the AFP Youth In Philanthropy Task Force, and is Chair of the Delaware Association of Nonprofit Agencies’ Task Force on the Image of the Nonprofit Sector. Valerie lives outside of Philadelphia with her husband, Matthew and three children, Mary Claire, Maggie, and Marleigh.
