INFUSION CARE SPECIALISTS TO PROVIDE EMPLOYEES AND FAMILY MEMBERS WITH SERVICES TO SUPPORT CANCER RISK REDUCTION AND CANCER MANAGEMENT

Newark, DE – January 8, 2007 – Infusion Care Specialists is working with a local organization to help their employees reduce their cancer risks and provide a direct program for professional coaching and resource connections.   Cancer Care Connection, a Newark-based nonprofit, is to provide their employee resource program consisting of directed access to independent cancer information resources and professional coaching by masters-level oncology social workers to their employees on a comprehensive range of topics.  These topics include prevention information, risk reduction options, treatment resources (including clinical trials) and services for day-to-day needs.  Infusion Care Specialists joins the already numerous Delaware Valley companies in supplying this well needed service (offered in both English and Spanish) to their employees and families regardless of where they live nationally.

A new element of the program helps employees understand their own heredity and lifestyle risks and offers them direct access to resources and coaching to reduce those risks.

A current board member of Cancer Care Connection and cancer survivor stated, “When you first hear the words, ‘you have cancer’, your world changes.  From diagnosis through treatment – and often even beyond – is a time of high stress, disorientation and need for help.  Medical help, spiritual strength and information are key ingredients in coping with cancer.  Cancer Care Connection provides compassion, information and guidance when you need it most.  With the help of knowledgeable professionals, who have the latest information at their fingertips, you can feel confident that you will know the questions to ask, how to get the answers and where to find services.”
